Oh Brother My Brother

A friend of mine at work (thanks Eddy) mentioned a case of conjoined twins in which the second and obviously smaller twin was entirely internal. this led me to fantasize about a future in which some such thing might be made viable. Perhaps by some ultra radical, high tech, form of fundamentalist Christianity, a way may be found to let the internal twin breath and grow and learn. Some way for it to become itself a true part of the outside world, although insulated from it by a wall of flesh. Perhaps this would become a new form for living, a living architecture. A walking, breathing intelligent house who could actually feed its related occupant. perhaps it could be a truly symbiotic relationship, with the internal brother offering advice on difficult issues, which the external twin, distracted as he is by the impressions of his hectic external life, has no real time to think about. In the future we may all have an internal twin to advise us. Someone we can always turn too in times of need. A literal voice in the dark.
